The three failures we see most
The performer picks a volunteer badly and a senior guest is made to look foolish in front of their own team.
The material relies on a claim of genuine psychic ability, which reads as either silly or dishonest to the exact audience it was booked for.
It is placed in a noisy reception where nobody can hear the setup, and mentalism without the setup is nothing.
We ask who is in the room and how senior, because volunteer handling is the whole risk in this format.
We check the performer's position on claiming genuine ability, and we tell you what it is.
Typically €3,000–12,000, in line with stage and close-up at equivalent standard.
