Format

Cocktail hour entertainment

The hour nobody plans for: guests standing, holding a drink, not yet talking to each other. The highest-value hour to get right.

What it is

Roaming performance during arrival drinks, designed to break a room open rather than to hold its attention.

The measure of success is not applause. It is whether guests are talking to each other by the time dinner is called.

What usually goes wrong

The three failures we see most

  • The performer treats it as a shortened close-up set and holds groups for fifteen minutes, so half the room is never reached.

  • They arrive as guests are already seated, having been given the dinner time rather than the arrival time.

  • The room is a narrow corridor and nobody warned them.

How we match against this

We look for performers with a genuinely different skill here: short, repeatable, high-turnover material rather than a set.

We confirm arrival time against your run sheet rather than against the invitation.

What to budget

Typically €1,800–5,000 for ninety minutes to two hours.

Our fee is separate, flat, set by the brief, and quoted before we build a shortlist — so it does not move with which performer you choose. How it works.

Describe the event. We will recommend two or three performers who fit it, with the reasoning written down — and tell you plainly when the answer is none of them.
